I have been searching for a new color for a few weeks now, and I stumbled upon this perfect Essie shade at Target last week. It is a gorgeous mix of grey and a slight hint of purple. It changes slightly depending on the light. I am OBSESSED with it!! It is called Merino Cool, and it is definitely a must have. It’s a perfect fall shade, or just a daily shade when you want to feel dark and a little mysterious. My cousin, who is way tanner than me, bought Master Plan, which is also a great color. It’s a nude that looks way lighter than Merino Cool. The difference is the skin tone. I know that Master Plan would not look great on me, because my skin tone is too light to offset it. However, it looks perfect on her! So here is my tip for the day — if you are tan, go for the lighter nude-brown of Master Plan, and if you are super pale, go for the darker Merino Cool. Trust me.
Mani Monday
Mani Monday: Formula X Outrageous
This week I went for a light purple mani from Formula X (Formula X Nail Polish ). I then put Formula X Matte Top Coat on it. To finish it off, I then added Essie Hors D’Oeuvres. Gots to add some bling bling yo. I am loving matte nails right now. I can’t wait for fall to rock a matte navy or matte gray. So chic!
So what do you think?! Do you love this look?

Mani Monday: Essie Sand Tropez
One of my favorite nude nail polishes is Essie: Sand Tropez. Everyone should have this in their nail polish collection. It’s a great color for any season. I especially love it for special occasions where you don’t want a crazy nail color, or for the upcoming fall season. Wear it with a black turtleneck sweater and crisp jeans and some serious gold jewelry. It’s understated yet always in fashion. When in doubt…go nude.

Mani Monday!
So obviously it is not Monday…but since I have been off for 2 months, I have so many exciting nail polish colors to show you! So today is an honorary “Mani Monday”. One of my fave finds from this summer was this gorgeous pink color by Essie. It is the perfect ‘ballet slippers’ kind of pink. I put it on, an immediately fell in love. The color is called “Muchi, Muchi”.
Let me know what you think! Isn’t this just the most perfect pink!?

Mani Monday!
Here in the mountains, it is STILL snowing!! No spring in sight 😦 So I decided to choose my nail colors based on my mood. I chose Essie’s new spring color “Bikini So Teeny” as my hope for spring, and one of Essie’s darker colors, “Wicked”, as my nod to the snow still being here. I love adding a little detail on my ring finger. I did white dots, let that dry, then tiny “Bikini So Teeny” dots on top of the white.
I’ve slowly increased my routine for painting my nails over the years, and now it is a whole process. Here are the basics:
Top Left: Nail Polish Remover – I love Sephora brand nail polish remover. It works the best of any i’ve found. This one is Formula X.
Bottom Left: Essie “Apricot Cuticle Oil” nail polish. I put this on after the nail polish remover. I paint it on my cuticles around my nails and then rub it in. It is the best moisturizer, especially for my dry mountain hands. (The cold weather is rough on them!)
Top Right: Essie “Grow Stronger” nail polish. I put this on after the cuticle oil. Since I do my nails a lot, I recently adopted this step. I have noticed a big difference in my nails since using it. It keeps them healthy, and gives a good shine. If you don’t want to do actual color, this is a good go-to. It helps nourish your nails, and makes them shiny. The perfect combination.
Bottom Right: The two Essie colors I picked this week, Wicked and Bikini So Teeny.
Let me know what you think! Do you put little designs on your nails? Have you adopted spring colors yet??
